Welcome to Northlands Wood Primary Academy
We are a vibrant, exciting and forward thinking school which currently welcomes in over 390 children each day. We are growing, and by 2021 we will reach our capacity of 420 pupils.
No two days are the same at Northlands Wood, mainly due to the vast array of opportunities we provide for our young people and the diverse and rich curriculum we operate. Children regularly go home ‘buzzing’ from their day and feedback from parents continually celebrates how happy their children are in school. Being a happy school is important to us and something we pride ourselves on having. It is vital for the children and essential for our staff. Our pupils get so much out of their time with us because our staff are prepared to put so much in. Everyone is valued and everyone is encouraged to grow, develop and flourish.
We have key values which are at the heart of everything we do. Children work in conjunction to demonstrate these values and there is a celebration at the end of each term to mark this collaborative success. As a result of this ethos, our children are happy, resilient, well-rounded and motivated to learn and develop. Teaching and learning at our school fosters an inclusive, holistic approach to education that totally engages all children and celebrates equality and diversity.
Learning at Northlands Wood is regularly taken outside the classroom. We are proud of our ‘flourishing’ Forest School programme which balances our curriculum and gives members of our school community the chance to get back in touch with the nature surrounding us. We feel our weekly Head Teacher Updates reflects our dynamic, busy and action-packed approach to learning, so please take the time to have a look through these.
